Lamson&Goodnow
From The Taylor Archive
Lamson & Goodnow traces its origins to Silas Lamson, a 19th‑century inventor and manufacturer who began producing scythe handles, agricultural tools, knives, and cutlery in 1837. Over time, the business grew into one of the largest cutlery manufacturers in the United States, known for high‑quality knives and industrial cutting tools. The company operated out of Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, and remained a major regional employer and supplier well into the 20th century.
